Southern Vermont's Sweetest Family is Mine!
The events that have impacted my immediate and extended family in the last few years have inspired me to do this. This is by far the greatest story I will ever tell. It is far better than my Master’s thesis and I am more proud to share this than anything else I’ve ever done.
The Bemis Family story is one that spans over 130 years. It is story known within the family because of meticulous record keeping and document collection by five generations of Bemis’. The Art of Sugaring is the thread sewn throughout all those generations. After all those years, the Bemis’ of today are the “sweetest” generation in the family, and arguably they are the “sweetest” family in southern Vermont and perhaps the entire state.
My story of “Southern Vermont’s Sweetest Family” will be published in the March/April 2015 issue of Vermont Magazine.
