The Love of Two Hearts, Jeremy & Joanne

The Roots of a Family Tree begin with the Love of Two Hearts.

Jeremy & Joanne were married on a typical New England day. I spent my morning watching the radar following the orange blobs and listening to it rain. I packed my clear bubble umbrella (for the couple if needed) and left for the wedding. Puddles and overcast skies welcomed me to the wedding site. This was followed by bright sun for the ceremony and clouds rolled in just in time for family photos. The rain came again while we finished up with pictures and guests packed into the tent for dinner. Mother Nature had good timing or we did. I'm not really sure which. It really couldn’t have worked out better.

I met the bride and groom a couple times before they tied the knot and I got to understand a few things about them. This day was incredibly important to them, not because of the hoopla and fuss that often accompanies weddings but because all their favorite people would be in one place, indulging in some exceptional beer and food all while making memories. Most importantly, these two loved each other and their kids. This day was a celebration of all that.

For Joanne & Jeremy the details and decorations were fun, well done, and very telling of the two of them. The focal point of the wedding was the majestic Walnut Tree under which the bride and groom exchanged vows and they became a family of five. The bride’s annual flowers covered every corner of the property in window boxes, hangers, tins, and pots. As beer enthusiasts, they constructed a bar of barn board with two taps. One was for family-made homebrew and the other with four New England microbrews. In the corner stood an owl statue and a six-pack of Bud, a memorial to the groom’s late father known for his woodcarvings. The farmhouse and grounds were accented with hay bales, and the field scattered with yard games. Travis Wheeler kept the guests on the dance floor with good beats including country and classic rock. There was never a dull moment despite the late afternoon drizzle.

This perfect day was capped off by a beautiful and awe-inspiring pink sunset… Perfection...
