A Weekend Away

This blog features my long awaited weekend away....Columbus Day. (Be warned that one rabbit, several earthworms, fish, and berries were killed while I was taking these pictures.) There could be no better time to leave southern Vermont. Portrait photography has been nonstop fun for me the last 2 months and I finally bit the bullet and took some time off. I appreciate everyone who has worked around my schedule. This blog post isn't your typical post of posed seniors and pretty wedding dresses. It can be summed up with some pictures of my family rabbit hunting, my nephew fishing, family berry picking, and some fall photos. This is essentially me just spending time with my family, following my nephew around as he learns our ways, and doing what I love... taking pictures of my life in the great outdoors. I hope many can appreciate this as these are the pictures that are near and dear to me hanging in my home, at our camp, and in the homes of family members.

Resting up for a long day of rabbit hunting, fishing, and berry picking. ^^

Picking 'Wild Cranberries'

We picked a bunch of these berries off camp road. Mom is going to make some jelly concoction that i'd never heard of.

It was on this trip to camp, that my nephew learned to bait his own hook. He's officially catching fish on his own. He insisted on keeping a few, grandpa obliged, cleaned them, and they were eaten for breakfast the following morning. Pretty proud of this little boy! From pond to table...

Baiting the hook....

Casting a line....

An awesome face... ^

Norton Pond - Island on the north end....

Station Brook....

Hobblebush with some amazing colors....

Admittedly posed this photo. I took 60 or so pictures of this leaf before we parted ways. It's not often that I can really take this much time to concentrate on my photos and get things just right. These are the times when i'm able to slow down and forget aobut everything. I was sad to watch it wash away.

Bye Bye Leaf ^^

Camp during it's facelift...The front deck has been ripped off and will be replaced next year....Let's not mention that foliage...It was incredible and is most often reserved for times when only the men are at camp. We were so lucky to be here!

Norton....There is no place i'd rather be! Stay tuned for my next personal blog on cider pressing with the family...
